Red Army Soldiers Memorial Desecrated in Riga

On the 10th of December, 2018 in Riga, vandals desecrated the military fraternal cemetery and a monument to the soldiers of the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army, who died in Nazi captivity in 1941–1944. 14,000 soldiers of the Red Army were buried in the fraternal cemetery, it is located on 22, Graudu st. in the Ziepniekkalns neighborhood.

Vandals beat off the nose of the monument to the Soviet soldier, filled the elements of the monument with red paint, wrote insulting inscriptions on it.

The police had not arrived despite people waiting for them for three hours, later activists Oleg Sysonyatin, Grigory Fedkin and Alexander Zhgun came to the police station and filed a complaint in writing.

It should be noted that any desecration of the memory of the warriors of the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army, who defeated fascism in 1945, is an act of supporting fascist ideas and is aimed at raising the neo-fascist movement, and therefore it borders on crime against humanity. Shame to fascist vandals!
